Your Guide to Tampa Bay's Fly and Spin Fishing

Flats Fishing Tampa Bay

If you haven't fished the Tampa Bay area of Florida, now is the time to start. Tampa Bay offers an abundant variety of fish species. Here you will find sea trout, redfish, snook, black drum, mackerel, pompano, sharks and tarpon. As a Coast Guard certified charter captain, who's actual backyard is Tampa Bay, my experience is extensive in the Bay area. Whether you enjoy spin or fly fishing, your chances of success are as good here as anywhere else in Florida.

My base of operation is the St. Pete Beach area of Tampa Bay and I can trailer my 17' Maverick flats boat to other areas as needed. My boat is equipped with both spin and fly fishing gear should you choose not to bring your own.

Experienced in Salt and Fresh Water Fly Tying

If you have any questions regarding fly tying just bring them with you on your next trip. I’ve been tying flies for most of my adult life and have the experience to teach you how to tie both fresh and salt water flies. I’ve published many articles about fly tying on websites, and in newsletters and magazines. Recently, I tied a few of my favorites for fishbuzz.tv. They are available in video form for you to view by selecting them from the menu under FishBuzz TV.
